SVSecureVault

FAQ

Questions, answered

Can SecureVault read my message?+

No. Encryption happens in your browser. We only store ciphertext, and the key stays in the URL fragment that never reaches the server.

Can I share files?+

Yes. Switch to the File tab, choose a file up to 2 MB, and create a link. The file is encrypted locally; recipients decrypt and download it in their browser.

What happens after the view limit?+

The ciphertext is deleted from storage. Later visits show that the secret is gone.

Do I need an account?+

Not for the MVP. Create a link, share it, and the recipient opens it — no sign-in required.

Why is recipient email optional but inactive?+

The field matches the product direction. Email delivery is deferred so the first version stays simple and local.

What if I lose the link?+

We cannot recover it. Without the fragment key (and passphrase, if used), the ciphertext is useless.
